Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Spiritual Rhythm (“Spiritual Rhythm,” “we,” “us”) makes the Spiritual Rhythm mobile app and this website. This policy explains what information the app and website process, why, and the choices you have. Spiritual Rhythm is designed to support your spiritual practices while respecting your privacy, and we collect as little as we can to make the app work.

2. Information stored on your device

By default, everything you create in Spiritual Rhythm is stored locally on your device, including:

• Your selected disciplines, schedules, and reminder times
• Completion history, streaks, Grace Days, milestones, and progress statistics
• Mood check-ins
• Guided-journey progress and quiet-time sessions
• Private reflections and weekly spiritual reviews (gratitude, growth, struggles, and intentions)
• App settings and preferences

We cannot see information that is stored only on your device. It is removed if you use Settings → Reset Spiritual Rhythm or uninstall the app, subject to any device backup (such as iCloud device backup) that you manage through Apple.

Home Screen widget. If you add the widget, the app shares today's streak and up to three discipline names with the widget on your device so it can display them. This data does not leave your device.

Recap cards. Shareable progress recap images are created on your device. They are only shared if you choose to share them, using your device's share sheet.

3. Information processed if you sign in

An account is not required for personal tracking. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google to use cloud backup or community features, we process:

• Account information — an account identifier from Apple or Google, an internal user ID, and your email address and name if the sign-in provider supplies them. Sign in with Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your real one.
• Profile name — a display name (from the name your sign-in provider supplies, or “Member”) shown to people in groups you join.
• Cloud backup — your disciplines, schedules, completion history, streaks, milestones, progress, and mood check-ins, so they can be restored on another installation.

Private reflections and weekly reviews are never included in cloud backup and remain only on your device.

4. Community features

If you create or join a circle, accountability partnership, or church group, we store the information needed to provide those features: group names, membership, invite codes, check-in messages, encouragements, and safety actions such as reports and blocks.

• Other members of a group can see your profile name and the check-ins and encouragements you choose to post there.
• Group names and check-ins are checked by an automated content filter before they are posted.
• If you report content, the report (including the relevant group and member identifiers) is stored in a protected moderation area and reviewed by us.
• Private reflections and weekly reviews are never shared with a group.

5. Sensitive information

Because Spiritual Rhythm is a Christian formation app, information such as your chosen disciplines, completion history, or group membership may reveal religious or philosophical beliefs. Mood check-ins may reveal information about your emotional wellbeing. We process this information only to provide the features you choose to use, only with your consent (which you give by choosing to use those features), and never for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your online account and resetting the app.

6. Other information

• Notifications. If you enable reminders, the app uses your device's notification system to schedule them. Reminder schedules are managed on your device. You can change or remove reminders in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.
• Subscriptions. Rhythm+ purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We can determine whether a subscription is active, but we never receive or store your payment-card details. Apple handles billing, refunds, and subscription-account information under its own policies.
• Security logs. To protect the service from abuse, we keep limited records of events such as rate-limit violations, linked to the relevant account.
• Support messages. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and use it only to respond to you.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, browsing history, financial information, health records, or advertising identifiers.

7. How we use information

We use information only to:

• Provide the app's features, including sign-in, cloud backup, and restoring your data
• Operate circles, accountability partnerships, and church groups
• Keep the community safe, including content filtering, reports, blocks, and abuse prevention
• Restore purchases and confirm subscription access
• Respond to support requests and communicate about your account
• Maintain security, fix problems, and comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, sell it, or use it to build marketing profiles.

8. Legal bases (EEA & UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on: performance of a contract to provide the features you request; your explicit consent for information that may reveal religious beliefs or wellbeing; our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and safe; and legal obligation where the law requires us to process or retain information.

9. How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We share information only:

• With the service providers below, who process it on our behalf to run the app
• With other members of a group, when you intentionally post to that group
• When required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect the safety of any person, or to prevent fraud or abuse
• As part of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the app, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information

10. Service providers

These providers process information under their own privacy terms and security practices and only as needed to deliver their services.

11. No advertising or tracking

Spiritual Rhythm contains no third-party advertising, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party analytics. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not use or share data with data brokers.

12. Data retention

• On-device data stays on your device until you reset the app or uninstall it.
• Account and cloud data are kept while your account is active and as needed to provide the app, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.
• When you delete your online account, your account, cloud backup, group memberships, check-ins, and encouragements are permanently deleted. Some limited records (such as moderation reports or security logs) may be retained when reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or resolving disputes.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted connections, row-level database access controls, and rate limiting. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Your choices and rights

• Use without an account — personal tracking never requires signing in.
• Control sharing — you decide whether to join a group, what you post, and whether to share a recap. You can leave groups, block members, and report content.
• Sign out at any time.
• Delete your online account in the app (Settings → Account & Cloud Backup → Delete Online Account) or by following the steps on our account deletion page.
• Erase on-device data with Settings → Reset Spiritual Rhythm, or by uninstalling the app.
• Notifications can be turned off in the app or in iOS Settings.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email spiritualrhythmapp@gmail.com from the address associated with your account (or tell us which sign-in you used). We will verify the request and respond within the time required by law, and in any case within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

15. U.S. state privacy rights

Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion or correction; and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or its use for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We use sensitive personal information only as necessary to provide the services you request. You may use an authorized agent to make a request, and if we deny your request you may appeal by replying to our response.

16. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

17. Children's privacy

Spiritual Rhythm is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it.

18. This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, and it has no forms that collect personal information. Our hosting provider may process standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) in server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them.

19. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes or the law requires. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If we make material changes, we will let you know in the app or on this website before they take effect.
