Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Spiritual Rhythm mobile app and this website (together, the “Service”). By downloading or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Using Spiritual Rhythm

Spiritual Rhythm is a tool to help you organize and practice spiritual disciplines, track consistency, receive optional reminders, and encourage people you trust. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree to use it lawfully and not to interfere with its operation, attempt to access it by unauthorized means, probe or bypass its security or rate limits, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Spiritual growth

Spiritual Rhythm is intended to encourage healthy spiritual habits. Streaks, Grace Days, milestones, reflections, statistics, and other features are tools for encouragement. They are not measures of your faith, your spiritual worth, or your relationship with God. Your spiritual growth is personal, and no particular outcome is promised.

4. No professional advice

Content in Spiritual Rhythm — including guided journeys, Scripture reflections, and prayers — is offered for general devotional and informational purposes. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and it does not replace care from a qualified professional or counsel from trusted faith leaders. If you are in crisis or in danger, contact local emergency services right away or see our crisis resources.

5. Accounts

An account is optional for personal tracking and required for cloud backup and community features. You may sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. You can sign out at any time and delete your online account as described on our account deletion page. Deleting your account or the app does not cancel an App Store subscription.

6. Rhythm+ subscriptions

Spiritual Rhythm+ (“Rhythm+”) is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks the complete guided-journey library, new premium journeys added during an active subscription, and additional features such as extended reports, mood insights, and instrumental quiet-time sounds. Core discipline tracking remains free.

Plans. Rhythm+ is offered as a monthly subscription that renews each month and an annual subscription that renews each year. The exact price, currency, and billing period are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by country or region.
Free trial. Eligible new subscribers to the annual plan may receive a seven-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the annual price shown before purchase is charged when the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm your purchase (or when the free trial ends).
Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Managing and canceling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings (iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Restoring purchases. Use “Restore Purchases” in the app to restore an active subscription on a new or reinstalled device signed in to the same Apple Account.
Refunds. Refunds and billing disputes are handled by Apple under App Store policies, not directly by us. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices or features as permitted by law and Apple's rules. Apple will provide any notice or ask for any consent required before a price change applies to you.

7. Community conduct

If you use circles, accountability partnerships, or church groups, you agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In short: be respectful. Harassment, hate, sexual content, threats, spam, impersonation, misleading or unlawful content, and sharing another person's private information are not allowed. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We may filter or remove content and restrict or remove accounts to protect the community. Report urgent safety concerns in the app or at spiritualrhythmapp@gmail.com.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create. Private reflections stay on your device and are never shared with us. When you intentionally post a group name, check-in, or encouragement, you give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content only as needed to operate and protect the feature. This license ends when the content is deleted, except where limited retention is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to share what you post.

9. Intellectual property

Spiritual Rhythm's original design, illustrations, branding, software, guided-journey writing, and other content are owned by Spiritual Rhythm or used with permission and are protected by law. You may not copy, modify, resell, or redistribute them except as these Terms or the law allow. Scripture references and quotations remain the property of their respective copyright holders.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party services such as Apple, Google, and Supabase. Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

11. App availability

We may update, change, improve, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service over time. We cannot guarantee that every feature will always be available or operate without interruption or error.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to online features for a serious or repeated violation of these Terms, to protect other users, or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will survive.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost; please keep your device backed up.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to Spiritual Rhythm is limited to the amount you paid for Rhythm+ in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you, and nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Spiritual Rhythm harmless from claims arising out of content you post or your violation of these Terms or of another person's rights.

16. App Store terms

If you downloaded Spiritual Rhythm from Apple's App Store, your use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”). You also acknowledge that:

These Terms are between you and Spiritual Rhythm, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, or consumer-protection claims.
Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling, or discharging any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If these Terms conflict with Apple's required terms for an App Store transaction, Apple's terms control for that transaction.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Spiritual Rhythm's developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where the consumer-protection laws of your country of residence require otherwise. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at spiritualrhythmapp@gmail.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

18. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the app.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as Spiritual Rhythm grows or new features are introduced. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If we make material changes, we will let you know in the app or on this website. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
