What you'll practice

Each day takes about 10 minutes: a short passage of Scripture, a brief teaching, simple steps to practice, a reflection question, and a closing prayer. Here's the path.

  1. Day 1

    Name what never stops

    Genesis 2:2–3

First notice the forces that make stopping feel unsafe or irresponsible.

  2. Day 2

    Choose a realistic container

    Mark 2:27

A life-giving Sabbath starts with a container you can actually keep. Begin small enough to practice with joy.

  3. Day 3

    Practice stopping

    Psalm 127:1–2

Stopping is an act of trust: the world continues under God's care while work remains unfinished.

  4. Day 4

    Listen to your limits

    1 Kings 19:5–8

The body may need sleep, movement, quiet, food, or freedom from decisions.

  5. Day 5

    Recover delight

    Psalm 16:11

Delight reminds us creation is not merely useful. Joy can be an act of worship.

  6. Day 6

    Turn toward worship

    Psalm 95:1–7

Sabbath recenters life around God's worth rather than our work.

  7. Day 7

    Write your experiment

    Exodus 20:8–11

Sabbath becomes sustainable through experimentation, not instant mastery.
